As this year’s Membership Promotion Chair, I would like to personally thank each one of our chapter’s Members, Associate, Affiliate, and Student Members for their continued dedication to ASHRAE, as well as to invite those of you who are not yet members to sign up!

There are many advantages to becoming a member–both at the Society level and the Chapter level. To quote from the Society web site’s Membership page:

Membership in ASHRAE allows access to information about state-of-the-art HVAC&R technology and provides many opportunities to participate in the development of that technology. Participation is available locally, through chapters, and through membership on Society committees, such as standards projects committees, which are responsible for the development of standards, and technical committees which advise the Society on research needs, emerging technologies, and technical matters.

By becoming a member you will receive this year’s ASHRAE handbook (one of four recurring topics), a subscription to the ASHRAE Journal, and discounts on training and seminars. As a Chapter member you will receive reduced rates on local events and dinner meetings, direct email notification about local chapter events, and the monthly Northern Alberta Chapter newsletter–Nic-Nacs.

I would also like to point out that it’s a great time to upgrade your current membership from Associate, Affiliate, or Student to full Member status. If you would like more information on the process, please email me directly and I would be glad to help you out. You may also contact anyone on our Board of Governors through our Contact Us page at any time.

More information on membership can be found at the ASHRAE society’s membership website.

I’m looking forward to another successful year of ASHRAE in Northern Alberta!

Thank you very much.
