The ASHRAE Northern Alberta Chapter Board of Governors would like to extend our condolences to the family of Wita Holte. Wita's husband Don was an avid supporter of ASHRAE, not only within our own chapter, but also at the Society level. He was Society President in 1997. Wita was also an avid ASHRAE supporter and attended many meetings and events with Don.
February is Refrigeration month for NAC. This month we will be privileged to host Dermot McMorrow with Mitsubishi Electric Canada. Mr McMorrow is currently a working member with ASHRAE Technical Committee TC 8.7 - VRF and will be presenting on leak mitigation strategies in VRF systems. This will prove to be a topic of great interest, not only to our ASHRAE members, but also to the pressure piping community. Space will be limited so be sure to RSVP early to insure availability. Details will be distributed to all the members shortly and we look forwards to seeing everyone on the 22nd.
Interesting photo found in the vault.........Look at all the smiles. You too could have as much fun as these whipper snappers did. Remember to sign up for the John Ross ASAP so you dont miss out on your opportunity to reach the same level of greatness as these past champions.
Tom & I would like to thank everyone from the chapter for another fantastic Student Night. There have been many positive comments coming back from both the UofA, and NAIT students. Please remember that the Student Activities Comittee will be in contact with these students, so if you are in need of an up-and-coming HVAC'er please feel free to contact us and we will be sure to pass this message along to the students.
