The year is quickly coming to an end. After a fantastic showing last year the Region is looking at us to try and duplicate the fantastic finish we had in 2015. After all our forms are submitted we will be sitting at approximately 65% of our goal with 2 months left to go.
Thanks to the immense generosity of our membership and guests, we are pleased to announce that $5,680.00 was raised for the Christmas Bureau at our annual Christmas Luncheon, held at Highlands Golf club in December.
"Since 1940, the Christmas Bureau has maintained one tradition - providing a festive meal to Edmontonians in need at Christmas time through the promotion of the spirit of Christmas caring and sharing in the City of Edmonton".
Please visit www.christmasbureau.ca for further details of this worthy cause.
Our annual football event was a success again this year, with a high turnout and fun had by all. The evening was capped off with an Eskimo's win in overtime. We would like to welcome all of our newest student members as many have signed up since our visits to UofA and NAIT, once again thanks to both institutions for letting us speak to your classes.
Stay tuned as we plan our next event, looking like it could be a November lunch mixer!
As Chapter Historian, I look forward to documenting another year of our Chapter Activities. These include our monthly meetings and special events such as the John Ross Bonspiel, Lobsterfest, Past Presidents Night, Student’s Night, Christmas Luncheon, ASHRAE Golf and this year, the ASHRAE Trade Show.
There are many different ways we as a Chapter can earn Presidential Award of Excellence (PAOE) points. Some of these include a Leadership Recall interview, which I did last year with Past President Eugene H. Bolstad, P. Eng. I look forward to another recall this season.
