Interesting photo found in the vault………Look at all the smiles. You too could have as much fun as these whipper snappers did.
Remember to sign up for the John Ross ASAP so you dont miss out on your opportunity to reach the same level of greatness as these past champions.
With just over two weeks until the John Ross Spiel, things are looking great. This should be another great social event put on by your local ASHRAE chapter.
If you are interested in donating prizes to the hottest event on ice this year please send an email to curling@ashraenac.org

Director & Regional Chair Erich Binder will return for another visit, along with YEA Regional Coordinator Tariq Amlani, for our Student & YEA Night on January 18th.
Are you interested in helping out young up and coming members that are looking to break into the HVAC profession?
NAIT has a strong history of supplying local companies with HVAC professionals. Over the past few years our chapter has been active in reaching out to these students as well as the mechanical engineering students at the U of A. The past couple of years the U of A has put together a program that specifically deals with the Building Sciences industry. This elective course is full of students who are hoping to enter the Building Sciences field upon graduation. NAIT currently supplies our industry form a few separate programs. We will once again be speaking to many of these students this year.
Here is where you come in. We would like to offer you the opportunity to help out these students and be recognized. For each student that is sponsored we will recognize this contribution with a sticker on the inside of the student fundamentals book that will be presented to them. As well each student sponsor will be recognized to the local membership.
After several discussions, we are asking the Northern Alberta Membership to sponsor these students. Many of these students understand what is out there but do not truly realise the benefit of membership. Having a student membership allows these students to access numerous technical resources, be part of technical committees helping to shape our technology, and be informed of the daily in and outs of our industry. As well these students and potential employees will be encouraged to walk among us at our monthly meetings and various social events.
Currently we are looking to have these students membership fees covered and a copy of the current ASHRAE Fundamentals provided to these students for use in their studies.
This sponsorship opportunity is just $75 but will mean so much more to an up and coming HVAC student as well as our chapter..

Members of the Student Activities Committee will be contacting people shortly.

Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) was formed to bring together ASHRAE Members 35 years and younger. Typically many of these members dont feel as comfortable breaking in to the exisitng cliques that have formed within our chapter. In order to keep our chapter fresh and be able to replace the knowledge as it leaves it is essential to draw these young individuals into our world.
If you know anyone who you feel would benefit from such a group please get them to have a look at this event.
If you fit the YEA category please come out and join us on March 18th.

I attended the fall edition of this conference in October. It was such a good experience I thought I should pass this on so people don’t miss out. The registration deadline is right away but if you contact Colleen you might be able to get a spot.
This weekend is put on by ASHRAE for the YEA members. It was a great experience to not only converse with other YEA members but the course that we went through was invaluable in my day to day activities at work.
