We hope you enjoyed last week's "21st Century Tall Building Design" training session held at La Cité Francophone.
This session covered topics such as microclimates, air contaminants, stack effect, and best practices of Tall Building design.
A big thank you to Distinguished Lecturer Mr. Luke Leung, PE, LEED Fellow, P.Eng. for his candor, and informative open forum discussion!
The year is quickly coming to an end. After a fantastic showing last year the Region is looking at us to try and duplicate the fantastic finish we had in 2015. After all our forms are submitted we will be sitting at approximately 65% of our goal with 2 months left to go.
Thanks to everyone who came out for the March YEA Lunch Mixer at the Canadian Brewhouse. It was great to see YEA members outside of regular dinner meetings. There will be another YEA event in April, details to come in the next couple of weeks. If you have any suggestions for events please let Lyle and Justin know! ASHRAE design competition deadlines are coming up fast! Teams need to be registered by April 5th, and the technical report is due May 5th. The best local design gets $750 dollars on top of the chance to win the national prizes.
Thanks to the immense generosity of our membership and guests, we are pleased to announce that $5,680.00 was raised for the Christmas Bureau at our annual Christmas Luncheon, held at Highlands Golf club in December.
"Since 1940, the Christmas Bureau has maintained one tradition - providing a festive meal to Edmontonians in need at Christmas time through the promotion of the spirit of Christmas caring and sharing in the City of Edmonton".
Please visit www.christmasbureau.ca for further details of this worthy cause.
