Please join us for our March Dinner Meeting, hosted at The Upper Level of MKT!
MKT is located at the historic former Canadian Pacific Railway Station in Strathcona, also formerly the Iron Horse. MKT is located in the heart of Whyte Avenue.
Ever wondered what it actually costs to construct a building that’s more energy efficient than code? Have your clients ever wondered? Ever wondered whether a fan coil system actually costs more to maintain than a VAV system?
Well, the City of Edmonton did. And as part of the City’s rework of it's sustainable building policy, they answered a lot of these questions. The City commissioned several studies to determine the capital costs and paybacks associated with constructing buildings that either just met energy code or are more efficient than code.
Shawn Allers, P. Eng, M.Eng, Senior Mechanical Engineer in Facility Engineering for the City of Edmonton, will discuss these questions. The presentation will focus around the results of the studies; namely the capital cost increases associated with the different levels of energy efficiency.
Bring out your guests, clients, spouses, and co-workers for a great time and show them what fun ASHRAE can be!
