Welcome back members! It's the start to another exciting year of ASHRAE!

 Unlike previous years we will not be starting our year with Presidents night. The Northern Alberta Chapter is pleased to be hosting the ASHRAE President, Darryl Boyce, for our October meeting. Stay tuned for more details.

Our kick-off meeting in September will be a lunch meeting at the Matrix Hotel featuring speaker Steven Sookdeo from Footprint. Steven from will walk through the changes associated with the implementation of the NECB 2017. The National Energy Code for Buildings came into force in Alberta on April 1, 2019. The code’s changes result in a 10 to 14% improvement in energy efficiency over the 2011 code. He will discuss envelope, lighting, and HVAC strategies as well as energy modelling as it relates to NECB 2017 design compliance.
