Topic Summary:
Don will present on healthcare ventilation and increasing patient safety through HVAC risk mitigation. He will review the HVAC challenges in the healthcare environment and discuss airflow control and pressurization in isolation rooms, pandemic ready rooms, intensive care units, operating rooms and pharmacy cleanrooms. As a vital component of user information he will also discuss visibility and control within the HVAC data system and will conclude with a Q+A session.
Speaker Bio:
Don MacDonald is currently the Northern Regional General Manager for Phoenix Controls and covers Canada as well as several states in the north central USA. He is a graduate of Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada with specialization in control systems technology. Don has been involved with the HVAC industry since 1977 when he started his career with Johnson Controls then moved to Phoenix Controls in 1993.
Don has been involved with many different laboratory, vivarium, bio-containment, healthcare and pharmaceutical projects across North America. His experiences will provide some valuable insight into design standards, customer needs and unique requirements and applications for these complex facility ventilation control systems. Don is a member of ASHRAE, the Canadian Hospital Engineering Society, International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers, Canadian Association Laboratory Animal Sciences, Sustainable Labs Canada and the Canadian Professional Sales Association
